Cane Made from the U.S. Frigate Cumberland, c. 1863, oak cane with elaborate gold handle with raised foliate designs, engraved on the top "From the/Ensign gaft/of the U.S. Frigate/Cumberland sunk/by the Conf'd Steamer/"Merremac"/Mch. 9 1862" and on the side "Dec 25 1863/Wm F Stearns/from/AWH," overall lg. 33 3/4 in.
