Silver-mounted Mastodon Tooth Snuff Box, probably 19th century, unmarked, lg. 3 1/8 in.

Lid with heavily applied clear finishing filling in small losses and cracks. Back panel with small crack along natural fissure. Underside with several horizontal cracks and several small areas of loss. All panels stable (no shifting in frame). Interior lower brass mount with spots of verdigris.
