Description:

Three Album Leaves from a Poetry Contest of Various Artisans, Japan, Edo period (1603-1868) or earlier, one depicting a monk walking in geta (sandals),with a staff in his right hand, blind in his right eye, followed by a boy monk with a lute on his back, framed; one depicting two figures weaving on a loom; and one depicting a figure seated at a game board, each with a tanzaku calligraphy, ink and color on paper, sizes to 10 3/8 x 12 5/8 in.

not examined out of frame, all severly toned exhibiting wears, multiple tears, two loose ones backed with taping residues to reverse, framed one with tears to silk matte.
