Pair of Wedgwood Black Basalt Wine and Water Ewers, England, 19th century, the water ewer with a figure of Triton seated atop the shoulder and modeled holding the horns of a marine monster below the spout, aquatic festoons to either side; the wine ewer with a figure of Bacchus seated atop the shoulder and modeled holding the horns of a ram's head below the spout, fruiting grapevine festoons to either side; impressed marks, ht. 16 3/4 in.
