Description:
Kuhn, Walt (1877-1949) Six Christmas Cards. Five large printed Christmas cards from 1931, 1938, 1939, and 1941, all hand-colored by the artist; a smaller-format undated hand-colored card; and a Christmas greeting printed in red and black ink from 1947; accompanied by a hand-addressed envelope from Kuhn to his father from 1934 which would fit one of the larger cards, sizes vary. (6)
Kuhn was an organizer of the 1913 Armory show, and is known for his paintings of clowns and circus performers. In these cards, the feel is decidedly light-hearted, cartoonish, and western.
