Machen, Arthur (1863-1947) Three Autograph Letters Signed, 1923. Three letters, each one leaf inscribed over two pages. To Alfred Knopf, concerning getting together for a social occasion, a "glowing" review in the New York Times Book review by Robert Hillyer about "The Hill of Dreams," and "Things & Near and Far"; other business concerning the publication of works, Machen plans to send the preface to the Heptameron, asks to be sent proofs of Ornaments in Jade, notes that The London Adventure is typed, and is thankful for a royalty statement; the third letter mentions The Anatomy of Tobacco, each letter slightly toned, with Knopf processing stamps or notes.
