Simon Willard Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1805, the mahogany case with painted iron roman numeral dial within a brass bezel, reverse-painted glasses, the lower of geometric pattern in pink, white, and gold marked S. Willard's Patent, the waist glass decorated with oak leaves and acorns, flanked by brass side ornaments, eight-day timepiece with "T-bridge," fillister-head screws for case attachment, step train and deadbeat escapement all regulated by a brass-faced pendulum bob and iron rod, ht. 33 1/2 in.
