Imperial Curtain Hanging, China, 18th/19th century, the upper section divided into fourteen small panels each depicting a lung dragon chasing a pearl among clouds, the lower section depicting six lung dragons chasing pearls in the celestial landscape of clouds, mountains, and waves, all with multicolored silk and with gold metal-wrapped thread brocade against a pale orange satin, each section bordered with silk brocade ribbon with auspicious symbols in blue and white on a black ground, the lining yellow cotton tabby, wd. 36, lg. 84 in.
