Description:

Pearlware Coffeepot and Cover, England, c. 1780, the body and domed cover in a veneer of the shavings from the dipped ware engine-turned process, overlaid by black slip engine-turned in a band and rib pattern, colored green by the lead glaze, ht. 9 1/2 in.

Note: A matching cup and saucer reside at the Chipstone Foundation, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Lid has a very small chip on the inside of the rim, 1 3/4 in. hairline crack extinding into the body from the rim, spider hairline cracks in the base.
