Plains or Prairie Carved Wood Grass Dance Whistle, c. second half 19th century, the bird head with black and red pigments and faceted glass eyes, probably had a crest at one time, the body with deeply incised geometric designs and remnant sinew wrapping, dark patina, lg. 22 1/2 in.
