Twenty-six Assorted Musha-e Woodblock Prints, Japan, six by Ichieisai Yoshitsuya (1822-1866),from the series Fifty-four Scenes of the Gourd Wars, including the cover; two depicting imperial figures including Emperor Komei; four by Toyohara Chikanobu (1838-1912),from the series Collection of Night Tales; five by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) including four from the series Biographies of Loyal and Righteous Samurai and one from One of the One Hundread Eight Heroes of the Popular Water Margin; nine by various artists including Utagawa Shigenobu (1826-1869) and Ichijusai Yoshikazu (active 1850-1870),with five in chuban tate-e, all others oban tate-e unless stated otherwise, sizes to 14 3/4 x 10 in.
