Mann, Thomas (1875-1955) Typed Letter Signed, 28 April 1937. One and a half page letter on French Line, S.S. Ile de France letterhead, in German, with the original typed envelope. To Samuel Morris Steward (1909-1993),while he was teaching at Loyola University in Chicago. Very good, with old folds, 10 3/4 x 8 1/4 in.
Steward, who wrote under many pseudonyms was an academic, homo-erotic author, and tattoo artist. He was also a longtime friend and correspondent of Gertrude Stein.
