Heath 8-inch Brass Sextant, Erith, Kent, c. 1855, pierced frame with inset silvered scale marked 0-120 and marked Heath Erith, Kent, index arm with fine adjustment knob, vernier scale and magnifier, horizon mirror and sunshades, all fitted in a mahogany keystone-shaped box with interior retail or trade labels from Samuel Thaxter & Son, Boston, and H. Duren, New York, with additional eyepieces.
