Miniature Fusee Skeleton Timepiece by Bates, Tonbridge, United Kingdom, c. 1870, silvered brass roman numeral dial engraved along the lower edge, Bates/Tonbridge, blued-steel spade hour hand and pointer minute hand with ball and spire finial mounted above, the chain drive fusee time-only movement with recoil escapement mounted within modified A-frame cast brass plates and rear-hung pendulum, all on a rosewood veneered pedestal with linen lining and under a glass shade, ht. 13 1/2 in.
