Roullet et Decamps Acrobat on Ladder Automaton, c. 1900, with bisque head and hands, closed mouth, blue eyes, feathered brows, pierced ears and blonde hair wig, dressed in a gold and red costume with mirrored accents, single-air tune plays while the acrobat rises to a handstand on both hands then transfers to one hand, and then back down to original pose, all while balancing on a gilt-painted ladder, all resting on a red velvet-covered octagonal box, ht. 26 in.
mechanics are functioning along with music, but cleaning is recommended, faded and worn original costume, bisque head has small chips at back, lacking one of the feet on the box.
