Description:

Four-piece Meissen Porcelain Monkey Band, Germany, late 19th/early 20th century, each polychrome decorated, on gilded scrolling bases: a keyboardist sitting on a monkey, a harpist in a dress, a French horn player with gilded horn, and a French horn player with gray-painted horn, each with crossed swords mark, ht. 4 7/8 to 5 7/8 in.
Estimate $1,200-1,800

Blue coat with French horn: slight chip to a cuff.
Yellow coat with a French horn: very good condition.
Harpist: harp heavily restored.
Pianist: nick to the end of a cuff.
