Oil on canvas, 20 x 16 in. (50.8 x 40.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Scattered minor paint losses, craquelure, surface grime.
Provenance: From the artist to Jane Davenport Harris di Tomassi, through to the estate of the current owner.
N.B. Calder Foundation application number A27674.
The inscription on the stretcher is not in Calder's hand, and it is believed that the artist was about 26 years old at the time of this self-portrait, not 22 as the inscription suggests.
