Condition: Remnants of old varnish to the edges of the board, minor varnish inconsistencies.

Provenance: Acquired by Josephine Lawrence of Boston prior to 1908, through to the current owner by family descent.

Also inscribed "To Amos from Josie" in pencil in a later hand on the reverse. Josie was Josephine Lawrence, the great aunt of the current owner, and Amos was the father of the current owner.

Under UV examination the darker areas appear to be varnish inconsistencies rather than retouch.
