Buddhist Hanging Scroll Depicting Amitabha Buddha, Korea, early 20th century, seated cross-legged in dhyanasana on a lotus flower, his left hand placed his lap with the palm up, his right holding a small swastika symbol with thumb and index fingers, rendered against a round radiating multi-bordered aureole and a green halo around his head, two red rectangular cartouches painted to bottom edge, some areas thickly painted and some left unpainted, mineral pigments on brown hemp, on a paper support (discolored),35 3/8 x 41 1/2 in.
