Condition: Scattered minor paint losses, fine craquelure, surface grime.

Condition: The paint surface is stabile, with scattered minor paint losses and fine craquelure. Surface grime. UV examination shows a varnish layer across the lower 1/3 of the painting. The masts of the ship stand up under U.V., but do not flouresce - likely the dark brown pigment reads this way under U.V.
