Polychrome and Transfer-decorated Liverpool Pottery Creamware Pitcher, England, early 19th century, with an scene depicting an American militia officer and flag lettered "Success to AMERICA whose MILITIA is better than Standing ARMIES" on one side, a three masted sailing ship and ribbon lettered "SUCCESS TO TRADE" on the other, and a scene with three sailors below the spout, (imperfections),ht. 8 1/4 in.

Provenance: Purchased from William Kranzler, August 1962.
