Twelve Flower Painting Leaves from an Album, China, in the manner of Yun Shouping (1633-1690),depicting various flowers, three with insects, one with swallows, all painted in boneless technique, signed with various seals of Yun's including "Niantian," "Zhengshu," and "Baiyun Waishi," one leaf inscribed with a date and a phrase about Xu Chongsi (fl. 11th century) of Northern Song, three seals reading "Nantian Xiaoyin," "Yun Zhengshu," and "Shouping," ink and color on silk, painting 10 3/4 x 11 7/8 in.
Provenance: From the estate of Kai Suhr, who supplied Chiang-Kai-shek's army in China between the years of 1938-1939.
