Large Japanese Shaku Dokei or Pillar Clock, c. 1850, traditional ebonized case with removable glazed hood and lower key drawer, time scale with thirteen movable silvered hour markers, brass movement with floral pierced and engraved front plate, turned pillars at corners, and verge escapement regulated by a balance wheel, the pierced silvered hand attached to the wood box enclosing the cast iron weight, ht. 51 in.
