Ebonized Mahogany Rococo Chime Clock, probably England, c. 1880, the pierced scroll top with carved urn finials surmount the stylized glazed hood door with carved surround and flanked by carved buttresses over the engraved brass Arabic numeral dial with three subsidiary dials in the arch for "Strike and Chime Silent" and "Whittington and Westminster" chime selection, seconds bit and engraved throughout the serpentine form, with waist carved freestanding columns flanking the glazed waist door with lattice carving over the base panel with grotesque mask, carving on a punch decorated surface and ogee feet, eight-day time, strike, and quarter-hour chime movement with nine tubular bells against the fretted back, all powered by three brass cylindrical weights and regulated by a mercury jar pendulum, ht. 108 in.
