John Downes Mahogany Longcase Clock, London, c. 1760, dentil molded flat-top hood with inlaid stars above the freestanding cast-brass Corinthian capital, stop-fluted columns, and checker-inlaid door, composite brass dial with strike/silent in the arch, silvered Roman numeral chapter ring, subsidiary seconds, calendar aperture, and boss reading John Downes London, gothic-topped, inlaid, flame mahogany waist door, flanked by stop-fluted quarter-columns with cast brass Corinthian capitals, all resting on bracket feet, eight-day, five-pillar, time and hour-strike movement, strap brass pendulum rod, brass-faced bob, and two brass-cased weights, ht. 84 1/4 in.
