Encounter, 1944, edition of 50 (Bool et al., 331). Signed and numbered "MCEscher No 14/50 IV" in pencil l.l., initialed and dated within the matrix. Lithograph on paper with partial "Holland" and figural watermarks, image size 13 3/8 x 18 1/4 in. (33.8 x 46.3 cm),framed.
Condition: Margins 1 3/4 inches or more, gently light-struck, minor creasing to margin near corner u.l., several bits of "Scotch" tape to edges, thinned area to edge of right margin and corner u.r.
Estimate $7,000-9,000

The sheet measures 17 x 21 7/8 in. gently light struck, , four 1inch pieces of Scotch or similar tape to edges, white cloth hinges near upper corners on the reverse.
