Regency/William IV Mahogany Secretary Bookcase, England, c. 1820, stamped and possibly retailed by H. Mawer & Stephenson Ltd., London, upper cabinet with a stepped cornice and dentil register above two throughout-mullioned glass doors, all on a lower section with a drop-front writing desk above two cabinet doors, ht. 90 1/2, wd. 54, dp. 24 in.

Scattered abrasions, nicks and minor patches throughout. Hardware replaced. Minor sun-bleaching to some areas (particularly left side, front surface). Small chipped loss to upper left cabinet door and back left side. Small crack to right side (lower section). Lower left side door slightly warped. Flowerheads and molding to lower doors probably later. Writing surface and surrounding veneer possibly replaced. Reeded molding to either side with abrasions and a repair in the same spot. Oak drawers to lower section probably later.
