Five-piece Victorian Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Service, London, 1841-42, William Hunter, maker, each repousse-decorated throughout with various flowers and foliage centering a vacant cartouche on a finely chased ground, and raised on four scrolled feet with male masks to body joint, teapot and coffeepot each with chinaman finials, waste bowl, sugar and creamer each with gold-washed interiors, coffeepot ht. 10 in., approx. 138.1 troy oz., in the original fitted case.

All with light usage wear. Teapot: Several small, shallow dents to underside and small metal fatigue tear to base of handle. Coffeepot: Handle lacking one handle pin to top joint so that handle is loose, pin prick-size dent to spout, and visible seam to underside. Sugar bowl: Several small, shallow dents to underside. Creamer: Nothing to report. Waste bowl: Several small, shallow dents to underside. Case: Age-typical wear, originally fitted to accommodate hollowware and flatware that are no longer present.
