Pair of "Commodore Truxton" Enameled Porcelain and Brass Mirror Supports, England, late 18th/early 19th century, with hand-painted polychrome enamel bust of Truxton, identified in flanking inscriptions, with threaded iron screw mounting, (minor imperfections),dia. 1 7/8, dp. 1 7/8 in.

Note: Commodore Thomas Truxton was the victorious commander of the U.S.S. Constellation, which defeated the French National frigates L'Insurgent and Vengeance in 1799 and 1800, respectively.
