Mark Tobey (American, 1890-1976)

Untitled, 1961. Signed and dated "Tobey 61" in pencil l.r., identified in information affixed to the backing. Color monotype on paper, image size 4 7/8 x 3 5/8 in. (12.3 x 9.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Rippling with minor creasing, not examined out of frame.

Provenance: Purchased from the artist by his student Helen Boyd Keen, New York; through to Jeffrey R. Brown Fine Arts, Longmeadow, Massachusetts; through to the present owner.

Hinged at top corners only. Remnants of paper hinges and linen tape at bottom corners with a tear at b.r. along edge of tape. Two vertical creases along top edge. Crease in paper at center right. Rippling in paper from inking.
