Louis XV-style Ormolu-mounted Lady's Writing Desk, late 19th/early 20th century, retailed by Alexander Roux, the recessed upper section with a cupboard door decorated with a floral marquetry medallion enclosing interior compartments, on a veneered desk with a single frieze drawer raised on four slender cabriole legs, one small drawer to under section with label affixed to underside, ht. 49 1/2, dp. 19 1/2, wd. 29 1/2 in.

Wear to writing surface, veneer dry, cracking, lifting throughout with minor patches. Scattered screws to ormolu replaced. Scatter minor nicks. Lacking feet to back legs. Ormolu foot on left side is now removed and not present.
