Staffordshire Cream-colored Earthenware Teapot and Cover, England, c. 1777, cylindrical with molded beadwork trim, entwined strap handles, and floral knop, gilt decorated inscription Lossiemouth 1777 within a foliate and floral frame to one side, the reverse with a chinoiserie landscape, lg. 8 1/2, ht. 6 in.
N.B. Lossiemouth is a coastal town in far north Scotland.

The cover with as 1 1/4" crescent shaped hairline to inner collar. The pot with several small nicks surrounding spout; three 1/2" rim hairlines; gilding on chinoiserie side heavily worn (mostly gone).
