Description:

Georg Jensen Cosmos Pattern Pitcher
Sterling silver
Johan Rohde designed c. 1915, Sweden, c. 1926
Baluster form with all over hammered surface and chased petal design around lower body, an upswept ebony handle with a berry join, engraved on base "Robert, Ethel, John Haven, Ruth, Ralph" around the edge, and "1901, June 15, 1926, Grace Parrish, Haven Emerson" in the center, with beaded oval Jensen marks and Sterling, Silver, 45, some dents and irregularities to surface, approx. 18 troy oz., ht. 9 1/4 in.

Note: This pitcher appears to be a 25th wedding anniversary gift to Grace Parrish Emerson and Haven Emerson, from their children. Both Grace and Haven were members of prominent New England families; Haven being the grandnephew of Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Grace a relative of Maxfield Parrish.
Estimate $1,200-1,500
