Anglo/American School, 19th Century

Three Framed Works: English Oak, Two Oranges, and Three Chicks, the first unsigned, titled on the reverse, an inscribed label reading "Painted by Capt. Dowans about the year 1848" affixed to the reverse, watercolor on paper, 6 1/2 x 9 1/4; the second depicting two oranges, signed "M.A. Davis" l.r., oil on academy board, 9 x 11 3/4; the third depicting three recently hatched chicks, unsigned, oil on canvas, 8 1/4 x 10 1/4 in.
