Gilt-lacquered Picnic Box, Japan, Meiji-Taisho period (1868-1926), decorated in gold, silver, and colored hiramaki-e and nashiji with an overall design of peony branches, including a square quatrefoil shallow plate, a four-tier square stacking Jubako, two sake bottles, a rectangular covered box; and a rectangular tray, ht. 13, 13 3/8 x 9 in.
