Brass Clock Movement and Dial by Samuel Mulliken, Bradford, Massachusetts, circa 1740, the 10 1/4 in. brass composite dial with matted center, applied brass chapter ring with Roman numerals, quarter and half hour markings, name boss in the arch engraved Samuel Mulliken Bradford, pewter spandrels, the corners of crown and cherub pattern, single hand, time and strike posted frame movement with countwheel, recoil escapement, endless rope suspension, period lead weight, pendulum and bracket for corner mounting, a copy of Nutting's The Clock Book, 1924 accompanies the lot, dial ht. 14 1/4 in.
Note: Samuel Mulliken purchased property in Newbury by 1750 and remains one of several New England makers of posted frame movements.
Brass in oxydized condition, movement needs cleaning, original hand, pendulum and weight.
