Italian Violin, Attributed to and Probably by Enrico Ceruti, Cremona, 1846, bearing the maker's label, and additional label JOSEPH GUARNERIUS FILIUS ANDREAE, FECI CREMONAE SUB TITULO S TERESIAE 1736, the back cut on the half-slab or wide irregular curl, the matching ribs, the top of medium grain, the varnish of a brown color, length of one-piece back 354 mm.
Estimate $50,000-70,000

Excellent, no visible cracks. UV scan shows shellac overcoat on pegbox walls, one very small spot retouch to back, otherwise very pure.
