Rosewood "London" 30-Day Fusee Shelf Clock by Atkins Clock Company, Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1860, turned columns flanking the painted zinc dial with Roman numerals, transfer and gilt tablet and looking glass, lower door with rosewood veneered panel, printed maker's label on backboard stating, Equalizing Spring, Thirty Day Clock and Timepiece Manufactured by Atkins Clock Company, Bristol, Conn., thirty-day time and strike movement with fusees mounted in iron frame, Geneva stops, countwheel strike and anchor escapement, ht. 17 in.

Atkins produced only one model of the time and bell strike 30-day movement. The present example is related to one found in Gregory & King, The Clocks of Irenus Atkins, p. 81.

The unusual clear finish half columns are walnut and were probably never gilded, case refinished, dial yellowed and numerals relined, looking glass inpainted.
