Mahogany Pillar and Scroll Clock by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Connecticut, c. 1825, scroll top, glazed front door over the painted wooden dial with Arabic numerals, lower reverse-painted tablet with town center, French feet and scalloped apron, maker's label on backboard stating Improved Clocks Made by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Ct., 30-hour wooden "upside down" movement with countwheel strike, bell mounted above, two iron weights and pendulum, ht. 31 in.
Estimate $2,000-4,000

Repainted tablet by Moberg, object left front foot is a replacement, scroll tips repaired, countwheel replaced, dial lining probably enhanced.
