Black-painted Braced Continuous-Arm Windsor Chair, branded "EB Tracy", Lisbon, Connecticut, the black paint is over the original green with incised crest rail and tail piece, (minor paint wear),ht. 37, seat ht. 17 1/2 in.
Note: Ebenezer Tracy (1744-1803) is considered one of the most prolific Windsor chair makers.
Literature: The Windsor Style in America by Charles Santore pictures a similar chair, p. 112, plate 121.
