Monroe, James (1758-1831), Autograph retained draft, Paris, October 13th, 1794, as Minister to France, to Mr. Chaumont, concerning his negotiation of a treaty with Algiers and requesting that he tender his services to the United States elaborating that the President approved of the measure, (minor bleed through, chipping). Together with a ship's passport signature area with the signature of James Monroe.
