Thackeray, William Makepeace (1811-1863), Three autograph articles; first, autograph note signed, recipient unknown, concerning an autograph request "You have given me half a crown for poor Mrs. Barton and I am sure that your friend who wants an autograph will give me 2/6 for the widow and her seven children", tipt to larger sheet with carte-de-visite; second, autograph letter signed, November 19, [no year], to Dr. Brown, concerning his travel plans and recent trip, "I have got more praise than pudding in the Universities but the audiences are very pleasant, being so attentive and apt at the points", (right edge tipt to another sheet); third, autograph letter signed, March 30, [1855], one page, recipient unknown, politely declining an offer of hospitality, (slight soiling).
