Michael Moser, Certified Cicerone ® and specialist for Fine Wines, joined Skinner in 2012. Michael discovered his passion for wine through courses in the Food Studies Program at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education. In 2007, he joined the wine department at Christie’s in New York, initially as the warehouse manager responsible for all inbound and outbound logistics for North America.
At Christie’s Michael gained a thorough knowledge of the wine auction business, working closely with wine department specialists. He simultaneously pursued a course of continuing education through the Wine and Sprit Education Trust, completing the Advanced Certificate program with Distinction. He became a Junior Specialist in 2009 and began evaluating cellars and collections for consignment.
Since joining Skinner, Michael has spearheaded the effort to establish Skinner as the first, full-service auction house to offer regular sales of Fine Ales alongside wines and spirits. As a longtime collector, enthusiast, avid home brewer, and Certified Cicerone ®, Michael has been instrumental in expanding this young, but growing market. He also serves as one of Skinner’s auctioneers.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economic theory from New York University.
